JOB TITLE: Line Operator
LOCATION: Tajiguas Landfill

REPORTS TO: MRF Manager
DIRECT REPORTS: None
POSITION SUMMARY: The Line Operator will oversee the operation of the sorting system on a daily basis.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to the following:
- Oversees and performs various tasks/job duties related to the operational support and coordination throughout the MRF, including but not limited to, inventory control, quality control, operational staffing and performance improvements.
- Provides guidance to Sorters and other operations staff.
- Performs daily inspections of equipment and inventory.
- Increases production by minimizing down time and providing training.
- Ensures and/or maintains the safety and cleanliness of all service, and work areas, tools, and facilities.
- Schedules and/or arranges for maintenance and repair of equipment.
- Supports the MarBorg Recovery Mission & Values.
- Maintains a feeling of pride in work; strives to achieve all goals.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Carries out responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include planning, assigning, and directing work; performance management; resolving problems with the system such as faults, jams, and any other issues that may arise. Complete production reports. Complete time studies to improve production.

EDUCATION:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Position requires excellent verbal and written English communication skills including; ability to read, comprehend, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Basic Spanish communication skills desired.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes, or airborne particles, and outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud and dirty. Required to put on protective outfits, like gloves, safety footwear, and hardhat.
Compensation details: 20-24 Hourly Wage
